NDC-TIA will launch a signature report “Visioning to Implementation: National Transport Decarbonization Policies that Match Climate Targets in China, India and Vietnam” at the NDC Partnership Pavilion on December 5th during COP28.

In order to promote the low-carbon transformation of transportation whilst better integrating gender-responsive measures, the NDC Transport Initiative for Asia’s (NDC-TIA) China Component project invited experts and practitioners from the fields of low-carbon development and sociology for a joint discussion on 1 August 2023.

How to decarbonize the transport sector—while promoting equitable access and economic development through investments in low-carbon transport infrastructure and zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) industries—is important for Guangdong to develop its emission-peaking action plan. World Resources Institute (WRI) organized a workshop on April 11th, 2023, to foster knowledge sharing between Guangdong and global peers and facilitate dialogues on issues that surfaced from provincial transport decarbonization practice

Under the Forum for Decarbonising Transport (a NITI Aayog-led Initiative), WRI India, in collaboration with SLOCAT, conducted a panel discussion on integrating renewable energy with transport electrification, as a community event during the Spanish International Renewable Energy Conference (SPIREC) 2023.

At an ITF meeting in January 2023, UC Davis India ZEV Research Centre and WRI India jointly conducted a session that brought together experts and policymakers from California and Indian states discussed and highlighted the pathways to zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) transitions.

NITI Aayog and WRI India with support from GIZ India are organizing a virtual workshop on Financing the Decarbonization of Transport. Shri Amitabh Kant CEO, NITI Aayog will deliver the keynote address.

On February 4th, 2022, EV Charging Guidebook for Shopping Malls in Delhi was launched on an online event in the presence DDC Delhi, Government of NCT of Delhi, and WRI India.

The DOT of HCMC in collaboration with GIZ holds a technical meeting, namely “Action plan for city e-mobility development in Ho Chi Minh City” on the January 18th, 2022. WRI participated in the technical meeting.

On November 29th, 2021, Workplace Charging Guidebook (Delhi) was launched on an online event in the presence of Shri Jasmine Shah, Vice-Chairperson, DDC Delhi, Dr. OP Agrawal, CEO, WRI India, Amit Bhatt, Executive Director (Integrated Transport), WRI India along with other leading industry leaders.

In this Knowledge Lab with the newly launched The Women on the Move Network, we will discuss the importance of gender assessments and of having a network that connects women, helps them grow, and empowers their participation in discourses on transport in Asia.

On 21 September 2021, the NDC-TIA Viet Nam component organized a Project update meeting with the project owner: Department of Environment (DOE), Ministry of Transport. DOE acknowledged that this was the very first meeting with adequate representatives from DOE, GIZ, WRI, and ICCT to review the essential project progress, access the difficulties during implementation, and discuss the coordination mechanism among stakeholders.
