Council for
Decarbonizing Transport in Asia

The Council for Decarbonizing Transport in Asia brings together recognized experts, practitioners, and thought leaders from academia, civil society, business, and financial institutions from the Asian region to promote critical dialogue on achieving zero-carbon transport.

The council elevates robust and practical solutions that further the goal of making transport climate friendly, safe and accessible. As an expert group that brings together diverse perspectives and experience, the council seeks to highlight “blind spots” in the effort to transform the transport sector.

To achieve these goals, the council members participate regularly in virtual events and focus-group discussions. In 2022, the council published a flagship report to share its recommendations for decarbonized transport and the council supports the NDC-TIA in consulting with decision-makers to inspire to action.

The Path to Zero

The Council’s flagship report advocates a vision for complete decarbonization of transport in Asia by mid-century. It identifies blind spots currently holding back more ambitious action and presents a comprehensive approach to enable a transformation to zero emissions by applying foundational principles, enablers for change and targeted strategies.
